Is PureBariatric a medical device?

No. PureBariatric is an educational nutrition and recovery tracking app. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace care from your surgical team.

Do I need an account to use the app?

No. The app is fully usable without an account. Your tracking data is stored locally on your device.

Why does the Photo Food Log ask for camera permission?

The optional Photo Food Log lets you snap a photo of a meal, and a third-party AI service from Passio Inc. estimates the food and nutrition. The feature is off by default. See our Privacy Policy section 4 for the full disclosure.

How do I turn the Photo Food Log on or off?

Inside the app, go to Settings → Privacy → AI Food Scan (Passio). Toggle it on to enable or off to disable. The app continues to work in full with this feature off.

How do I delete my data?

All in-app data is stored on your device. Uninstalling the app removes your local data. If you would like us to confirm that no record exists about you on our side, email support@purebariatric.app.

Is there a web version?

Yes — a browser-based version of PureBariatric is available at purebariatric.com.
